Radio Merit Badge Homework
For those of you working on the Radio Merit Badge, use the link below to the Radio MB requirements and the Radio MB Book and bring the following to our next meeting:
Requirement 2(a)(1-3)
Draw the electromagnetic spectrumfrom 300 kHz (0.3 MHz) to 3,000 MHz (3 GHz), then label the MF, HF, VHF, and UHF bands. Finally, label eight radio services such as AM & FM radio, amateur radio bands, air traffic band, etc. Use the frequency allocation chart.
Requirement 3(a)
Sketch a diagram of how radio waves can travel locally and around the world.
Requirement 5(b) & 5(c)
Draw a block diagram of a radio station and list consumer devices that use analog or digital radio communications. (Hint, analog is voice and digital is computer.)
Requirement 9(a) or 9(b)
Explore a career in radio (a) or how you can use radio as a volunteer(b).
